Auta löytämään Paul McCartneyn alkuperäinen Höfner-basso!

Paul McCartneyn alkuperäistä Höfner-bassoa – vuosimalli 1961 – etsitään nyt maailmanlaajuisesti nettisivuston THE LOST BASS:n kautta.

Höfner-ekspertti Nick Wass, sekä toimittajat Naomi ja Scott Jones yrittävät löytää Paul McCartneyn legendaarisen basson, joka nähtiin viimeksi tammikuussa vuonna 1969, the Beatlesien Get Back/Let It Be -projektin äänityksissä.

Etsinnän päämäärä on palauttaa tämä basso alkuperäiselle omistajalle.

Alun perin Hampurista ostettu Höfner 500/1 oli vasenkätinen, mutta muilta osin tavallinen lajinsa edustaja. Nykyään saman mallin uusintapainokset myydään nimellä ”Cavern”.

Vuonna 1964 McCartneyn basso korjattiin ja myös viimeisteltiin uudelleen, jonka seurauksena soitin sai tumman kolmivärisen liukuvärityksen, sekä epätavallisen – ja yhtenäisen – mikrofonikehyksen. McCartney käytti tätä bassoa myös mm. Revolution-biisin videossa.

This demo is based on the Elvis classic ”In The Ghetto” (written by Mac Davis).
• All ukulele tracks were recorded with a Røde M5 condenser microphone plugged into a Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 preamp.
• The three rhythm parts were played on all three kits.
• The lead part was played on the Elvis Viva Las Vegas uke.
• The high register ”answer” parts were played on the Elvis Blue Hawaii and the Elvis Rockabilly.
