Hohner PentaHarp – Acoustic Demo

Here’s a short acoustic demo of the Hohner PentaHarp.
This harmonica is not your regular diatonic, Richter-tuned instrument, but is instead tuned to the minor pentatonic scale.
• The PentaHarp and the tambourine were recorded with a Citronic RM06 ribbon microphone and a Thomann FetAmp inline preamp.
• The foot stamping was recorded with a Shure SM7B, while the hand claps were captured by a Shure 545SD. The mic preamp for these two mics was a Cranborne Audio EC2.

Hohner PentaHarp – The Kitarablogi-video

This harmonica is not your regular diatonic, Richter-tuned instrument, but is instead tuned to the minor pentatonic scale.
• The PentaHarp was recorded with a Shure 545SD plugged into a Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 with lots of ”cream mojo” added.

Video: Näin soi mikitetty bluesharppu kitaravahvistimen kautta

Tässä lyhyt demobiisi, jossa soitan Suzuki Bluesmasteria Superlux D112 -mikrofonin ja Bluetone Shadows Jr -kombon kautta. Äänitin vahvistimen Shure 55SH -mikrofonilla ja Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 -mikkivahvistimella.

Shuren legendat ja huuliharppu ++ Legendary Shures and a Blues harp

Äänitin demobiisin viidellä legendaarisilla Shure-mikrofoneilla:

• 565SD

• SM58

• 545SD

• SM57

• 55SH

Huuliharppu on Hohnerin juhlamalli 360.

Mikit äänitettiin Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 -etuvahvistimella (jossa Mojo Creamia oli lisätty noin 40 prosenttia) ja Universal Audion Volt 2 -audiointerfacella. Efektit ovat samoja kaikille huuliharppuraidoille.

I used five legendary Shure microphones to record a Blues harp demo:

• the 565SD

• the SM58

• the 545SD

• the SM57

• the 55SH

The microphones appear in the above order – one mic per 12-bar turn.

The harmonica I used is a Hohner Limited Edition 360.

All mics were recorded with a Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 preamplifier (with Mojo Cream turned up to 40%) and a Universal Audio Volt 2 audio interface. All Blues harp tracks were processed in the same way.
